This is a powerful message perhaps the most powerful of them all. All will fail thatās the fundamental truth behind all wins, all successes, all growth and all winners. It’s never a fact that people sitting at the epitome of success today have not failed. In fact most of them failed miserably time and again. Those who embrace the failure as part of the process to success have every chance to convert those failures in to a grand success.
However majority of people stop, take a break or get demotivated with failures. Any effort has only 2 outcomes; success or failure; with 50% -50% chances like a toss of coin. Mathematically we can’t alter it. Therefore the outcome is fixed. All we need to do is to be ready to toss the coin again for higher chances to get a desired result.
Failures are like custard apple. There is a lot of seed and outer shell but the real tasty pulp is hardly a spoonful or less, so is the nature of failures. There is a spoonful of learning in every failure and digging deeper in to causes of failure we realize the true learning and it paves the way for betterment. Obviously with every failure lot of criticism and mockery comes as package deal same as outer shell of custard apple which needs to be discarded anyway. We need to alleviate ourselves above it. We need to be resistive towards petty laughs and discouragements because the same set of people will hail you as winner soon and those hurling insults will be singing praises when the time comes. Both praise and insults are insignificant in larger schema of life.
Similarly there are multiple superficial reasons for the failure which are of minor or no significance as they are just the reflection of the real reason. I did not get the right questions in exam, the chapter I missed had 3 questions from it, I could not find the supporting text books in time etc are all superficial reasons and are insignificant. While doing the critical analysis of the failure we would actually realize that we need to put in another 2 hours of studying the supportive text and cover the subject in totality perhaps. That final understanding or the take away from the failure, thatās the pulp of the custard apple. Thatās what we came for.
Therefore as a process we need to be ready for 2 things
One be ready to embrace failure as much as we feel ready embrace win realizing that there are only 2 possible outcomes and this keeps us motivated either way. To try again, to move ahead never get too mesmerized by initial success or demotivated by failures. Those will grit will rise again to Shine.
ā¦..and second is that you are not defeated till you refuse to get up and put up the fight with fresh rigor and zeal. Defeat can only be declared when one stops trying. Those who hang up there guns have no chances of redemption.
When a reporter asked, “How did it feel toĀ failĀ 1,000Ā times?”Ā EdisonĀ replied, “I didn’tĀ failĀ 1,000Ā times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.” “Great success is built onĀ failure, frustration, even catastrophe.” All will fail, some will rise, those who have the courage, motivation, grit and determination will rise beyond petty and with consistent efforts will win comprehensively.
