So congratulation the day is over we cut the cakes, celebrated the occasion, spread happiness and greetings, bowed down to women power on 8th March and by evening it started fading already. Claps died down and fever and fervor has died down. Time to get back to business, to the same routine selves. All the heavy words used are becoming meaningless as most of them were out of social compulsion rather felt from within. This is true even for the women folks, its no longer the male bastion. In fact those who are overdoing the causes of women are equally responsible for putting fuel in fire.
The issue is that no one is taking the issue seriously and somehow its becoming the next most abused word to secular. Secular state can not and should not create any policy based on religious lines. Secular means there is no religion for the state and it neither favors one nor discriminates against other. In its true essence it shall not even be interested to know your religion except for demographic purposes but the moment state creates a minority/majority group based policies, it perpetrates the divide.
The same is increasingly happening in the name of gender equality and to me it can best be achieved when we start seeing humans in work place without noticing their gender rather purely on their abilities. When we stop evaluating and judging our fellow colleagues based on any other parameter LGBTQ or women or hilly-billy or on the basis or states or caste etc. All we need to know and understand that we all are from the same “human” and that’s about it.
None of the groups need any special privileges all they need is a level playing field and they shall shine in no time. We need to create gender neutrality, social neutrality and economic neutrality and perhaps some day power neutrality.
We need to strive for a society which is based on meritocracy and only meritocracy.
