You are what you are seeking: Spirituality COVID diary

Source of light is within you. You are nothing but divine. According the Chandogya UpanishadTat Tvam Asi” can be loosely translated as “That Thou Art”. You are “The Divine” is one of the 4 Mahavakya or Great sentences according to Upanishad which literally means sit below teacher. These are the foundation of 6th Indian Darshan or philosophy called “Advait”. It has a foundation based on you and divine are the same consciousness. Upanishads are essentially the teachings from oldest known text known to human kind called Veda’s.

In modern times it has become more relevant in recent times as we have got some time to introspect within our being and see the fragility of whatever we have gained with our heart and souls in all these years. We are seeing life’s gone, healthy people dying every day, largest of organizations filing bankruptcy and their number growing as the day passes. Job cuts and reduction in operations is not even making to news as they have become evident almost everywhere. All the big prides and great Egos and Alter Egos are crumbling. Small to medium to large businesses which took years to build are in shatters.

Malls and retailers are closing, chaos everywhere. A miniscule virus has brought world ion it’s knees and economies built on virtual moneys are virtually gone. Companies and individual built on real terms will only survive and thrive. Those who will adopt to new normal will have a better chance to see tomorrow.  It’s a time to introspect and reflect on the basics of human life. How much is enough, is bigger houses and better cars providing the satisfaction?

This endless race to endless pit to gather all for me only can’t continue forever. Every growth has to come to an end. This will not come to an end by gaining more and more, as more has no limit. Only thing which can give some respite from this race is contentment. Realizing that the biggest entity as we know is god by which ever name we know it. And we can only grow as big as that divine is, this divine power is understood to be all knowing all pervasive all empowered. Formless and eternal and what if we are that already. We are what we are seeking “ to be boundless, to be eternal, to be that thou art”.

By realizing it we shall be content and ask ourselves if we doing enough for fellow needy, are we considerate enough to go out and help those who need a helping hand? There is no boundary to cross we are divine and this divine nature comes to surface when we do good deeds and improve on our Karma or action. Just this one fact is hidden under plain sight. Our experience of world is within us, all our known and unknown is within us. All we see, hear, touch, feel, think etc. all inputs are processed with in us. The seat of our happiness is within us. I see you, him, her, it  the “Whole World” within me. As consciousness we witness the body, mind and world with in us.

As Sacchidanand or pure witness consciousness we are one all-pervasive identity and all we need to do is to count our blessings and share them with everyone and identify ourselves as one greater entity. This realization is Moksha or Liberation. Oneness is the key to happiness. Truly we are, what we are seeking thus chase is wasteful and exhausting.
