More often than not our (even the most positive one’s) first approach in wake of any critical issue is to change the situation. It seems logical as well as, sometime back the things were smooth and now the only thing which has changed, is some external factors, which led to a abnormal situation which made it critical. The first logical response is to find the reasons and change the situation so it can again go back to its normal logical and tranquil self.
This approach has one fundamental flaw which is the reason of all the stress, pain and even depression. I wake of any odd situation first thing we need to change it our own mind set. We try and win the day with old mindset which has worked well for past, however the situation has changed and thus our own mind set has to come to a new reality first. We just try to change everything else around it where in the first thing which actually need to change its our own mental faculties. We need to come to terms with the new realities.
The one thing which is in our full control is our own mind and its thoughts. Instead of trying to change everything else and everybody else if we can make peace with the situation within ourselves first the daunting challenges will become much easier to face. External situations are not within our control fully and its foolish to expect everything else to fall back according to our need wants or demands rather it’s easier to change the mind set to embrace the situation for what it is and then address the issue to bring back to old normal or find new normal.
It’s not to be misunderstood as succumbing to the situation at all. It’s about accepting and realising consciously that change has come and I should be in a different, improved & better mental framework to tackle it. This is the most important of leadership skills a leader changes their mindset to bring about the change they seeks. BE THE CHANGE.
